Senator
Folmer's Agenda
Promise to Pennsylvania
Upon taking office in 2007, Senator Folmer, and a number of other members of
the Pennsylvania General Assembly, signed their “Promise to Pennsylvania,” a
pledge to advocate the principles upon which the state was founded and to
restore trust between the citizens of Pennsylvania and their government.

Tax and Spending Reform
Senator Folmer believes Pennsylvanians are overtaxed because of government
spending. Like families, who are forced to live within their budgets, so should
government. When government exceeds their budget, taxpayers end up footing the
bill. Senator Folmer's “Taxpayer Protection Act,” a key component of the Promise
to Pennsylvania, would tighten the reins on state spending so taxes can be
brought under control.

Healthy PA
Health care is a serious issue in Pennsylvania and across America: costs are
out of control, quality of care often suffers, and access diminishes. While some
advocate for more government (i.e. Governor Rendell's plan), Senator Folmer
proposes empowering consumers with choice and autonomy over their health care
decisions.

Sponsored and Co-sponsored Legislation
In addition to Senator Folmer's reform initiatives, he is a supporter of
many commonsense legislative initiatives to improve the lives and strengthen the
rights of Pennsylvanians.
