Lebanon County Officers Recognized for Aggressive Driving Enforcement

On February 19, the PA Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and its safety partner, The Center for Traffic Safety, honored municipal officers for their outstanding participation in PennDOT’s Aggressive Driving Enforcement and Education Project.  Police across PA participated in this project to reduce aggressive driving behaviors such as speeding, tailgating and running red lights.  Congratulations to the following officers from the 48th Senatorial District who were honored:  Patrolman Andrew Harner, Lebanon City; Patrolman Bradley Hain, North Cornwall Township; Patrolman Gregory Behney, North Lebanon Township, and; Patrolman Scott Firestone, South Londonderry Township!

PA Motorcycle Safety Program Clinics

PennDOT PA Motorcycle Safety Program (PAMSP) clinics focus on developing operator proficiency free-of-charge to prospective, experienced and new PA riders who have a motorcycle learner’s permit or license.  All training clinics are under the supervision of certified instructors and held at numerous riding ranges throughout PA.  Three of the clinics – the Beginning Rider Clinic (BRC), the Intermediate Riding Clinic (IRC), and the 3-Wheel Riding Clinic (3WRC) – offer a pathway to earning a motorcycle license.

For those still not sure if they want to ride, PAMSP offers a four-hour Introduction to Riding Clinic (ITR), a non-licensing clinic that teaches students with a valid motorcycle permit the fundamental skills for operating a two-or-three wheeled motorcycle via classroom training and street skills and strategies.

There is also an Advanced Rider Clinic (ARC), a one-day clinic for experienced riders designed to enhance a their ability to avoid a crash through honing their decision-making abilities, riding strategies, risk management and rider behavior and choices.  Registration for the 2019 training season is now open.  Visit www.pamsp.com or call 1-800-845-9533 for more information or to enroll in a clinic.
