Homegrown by Heroes and PA Preferred
Pennsylvania is now part of the national “Homegrown by Heroes” (HBH) initiative to promote current and former military service members who are farmers. The program is open to farmers, ranchers, fishermen and value-added producers of all branches and eras of military service. PA Preferred (PAP) is working with HBH by combining logos to give Pennsylvania farmer veterans visibility needed to be successful in the marketplace, while giving consumers a way to support veterans.

This grant helps support Matthew’s Town located inside Leg Up Farm to help develop children’s educational and therapy goals. Congratulations to Bernice Joan Kenney and Carl Johnson, Jr.
Bernice Joan Kenney and Carl Johnson, Jr. were recently honored by the Paxton Lodge No. 16, Free and Accepted Masons, and Sheba Chapter No. 32, Deborah Grand Chapter, Order of Eastern Star. I was pleased to prepare congratulatory Senate citations to be presented to both of these wonderful examples of community spirit.
