October 29, 2017 – I was honored to present a Senate Citation to Cadet Second Lieutenant Brook Lynn Bartal, a member of the Civil Air Patrol Squadron 307 in Lebanon, who was honored with the General Billy Mitchell Award. Also pictured are Brook’s proud parents, Matt and Wendy Bartal.
October 24, 2017 – I had the honor of hosting Miss Pennsylvania, Katie Schreckengast, at the PA Capitol. Katie is from Palmyra, Lebanon County. She made Pennsylvania very proud during the Miss America competition where she made it into the Top 10!
October 17, 2017 – I had a great time speaking to the Lancaster-Lebanon IU13 SEE (Student Enrichment Experience) Program at the State Capitol. A wonderful group of students, and maybe a few future legislators, too!

September 20, 2017 – I visited Strites Orchard in Lower Swatara/Swatara Twp., Dauphin County. Talking to Jon Strite took me way back to my produce broker days! This is a wonderful family oriented, local family farming small business at its best!
August 18, 2017 - I was honored to present Jenny Murphy-Shifflet with a Senate citation to recognize her retirement after 29 years of dedicated and distinguished service to the Sexual Assault Resource and Counseling Center (SARCC) of Lebanon and Schuylkill Counties. Jenny helped grow the organization from a small, nonprofit entity into a leader in service agencies and oversaw the partnership of SARCC with Lebanon Family Health Services to build the Jeanne Donleavy Arnold building, expanded services into Schuylkill County, and also spearheaded the development of the Lebanon satellite office of the Children’s Resource Center. She has rightly earned the respect and admiration of her many friends and colleagues.

May 22, 2017 - Roarke Miller, a junior at Annville-Cleona High School, shadowed me at the Capitol. He had the opportunity to sit in on various meetings, and I had the pleasure of introducing him on the Senate Floor.

April 18, 2017 - It was great meeting & speaking to Pennsylvania's professional Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists and Student Registered Nurse Anesthetists! I was pleased to support SB 274 when it unanimously passed the PA Senate.
April 17, 2017 - The one year anniversary of my medical cannabis legislation, SB 3, being signed into law by Governor Wolf as Act 16 of 2016! It was great being surrounded by the amazing advocates once again to celebrate this milestone in PA history and bring this much needed medicine to the ill and suffering in our Commonwealth.

March 22, 2017 - I was happy to join Representative Metcalfe, NFIB PA, the PA Chamber, Americans for Prosperity and others to support making Pennsylvania a Right to Work state! I will again be introducing legislation to give workers the right to decide for themselves whether or not to join or financially support a union.
January 27, 2017 - I was honored to have received the PA Council for Private Education (PA CAPE) School Choice Champion Award on behalf of Pennsylvania Private Schools!
