June 25, 2008
– Sen. Folmer listens to testimony on his REAL ID and Biometric and Economic
Privacy Act (Senate Bill 1220) during a public hearing of the Senate
Communications and Technology Committee. SB 1220 would exempt Pennsylvania from
having to comply with the federal REAL ID mandate, which requires states to turn
their driver’s licenses into a national identification card with personal
information stored in a national database.

2008 – The Pennsylvania Food Merchants Association and the Pennsylvania
Convenience Store Council recently hosted a dinner to honor food service
industry military veterans. At the event, Senator Folmer awarded a citation for
outstanding service to Sergeant Jan Carlin, who is employed by Associated
Wholesalers, Inc. in Robesonia. Pictured with Senator Folmer is Sgt. Carlin's
wife, Patricia, who accepted the award on his behalf. Sgt. Carlin is currently
training with the Army.

June 2, 2008 - Sen. Folmer rallies 500 homeowners from across Pennsylvania
who gathered in the Capitol Rotunda in support of the School Property Tax
Elimination Act. The elimination of property taxation is a key part of Sen.
Folmer’s "Promise to Pennsylvania." |

In
early April Senator Folmer toured the new Cornerstone Youth Center in
Elizabethtown. The center offers young people an opportunity to connect with
their peers and volunteers in a safe and fun environment afterschool and on
Friday nights.

Senator
Mike Folmer recently visited the Elizabethtown Child Care Center as part of the
Pennsylvania One Book, Every Young Child campaign. Sen. Folmer read the
campaign's featured book, Up, Down, and Around to the center’s kindergarten
classes.
