The Greater Lebanon Refuse Authority (GLRA) recently celebrated 50 years of service to the Lebanon area. Senator Folmer presented GLRA officials with a Senate Citation to mark the occasion.

June 6, 2009 – Making the cut…Senator Folmer joins officials from Lancaster County and Mount Joy Township for the official ribbon cutting ceremony at Cove Outlook Park in Mount Joy Township. The recreation park offers a walking trail, and multi-purpose field and pavilions, which were made possible in part from a Department of Conservation and Natural Resources grant and funds from the Lancaster County 2007 Urban Enhancement Fund.

May 12, 2009 – Senator Folmer accepts the Cyber Leadership Award from the PA Families for Public Cyber Schools. Folmer was recognized for his commitment and support of giving parents options when it comes to their children’s education.

April 27, 2009 - Senator Mike Folmer (R-48) joins State Representative Curt Schroder, concerned workers and a statewide coalition of business associations and chambers of commerce who say the Federal Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA) will infringe upon the rights of Pennsylvania workers and the businesses that employ them.

January 21, 2009 - Senator Mike Folmer (R-Lebanon) today joined members of the Senate Republican Caucus to announce the introduction of a 10-bill package of reforms intended to bring greater openness and accountability to state government.

October 14, 2008 – Lebanon Christian Academy students, administrators, and donors thank Sen. Folmer for his support of PA’s Earned Income Tax Credit Program, which provides a tax incentive for businesses to provide money to private schools for scholarships for middle and low-income families.

June 25, 2008 – Sen. Folmer listens to testimony on his REAL ID and Biometric and Economic Privacy Act (Senate Bill 1220) during a public hearing of the Senate Communications and Technology Committee. SB 1220 would exempt Pennsylvania from having to comply with the federal REAL ID mandate, which requires states to turn their driver’s licenses into a national identification card with personal information stored in a national database.

June 9, 2008 – The Pennsylvania Food Merchants Association and the Pennsylvania Convenience Store Council recently hosted a dinner to honor food service industry military veterans. At the event, Senator Folmer awarded a citation for outstanding service to Sergeant Jan Carlin, who is employed by Associated Wholesalers, Inc. in Robesonia. Pictured with Senator Folmer is Sgt. Carlin's wife, Patricia, who accepted the award on his behalf. Sgt. Carlin is currently training with the Army.

June 2, 2008 - Sen. Folmer rallies 500 homeowners from across Pennsylvania who gathered in the Capitol Rotunda in support of the School Property Tax Elimination Act. The elimination of property taxation is a key part of Sen. Folmer’s "Promise to Pennsylvania."

In early April Senator Folmer toured the new Cornerstone Youth Center in Elizabethtown. The center offers young people an opportunity to connect with their peers and volunteers in a safe and fun environment afterschool and on Friday nights.

Senator Mike Folmer recently visited the Elizabethtown Child Care Center as part of the Pennsylvania One Book, Every Young Child campaign. Sen. Folmer read the campaign's featured book, Up, Down, and Around to the center’s kindergarten classes.

March 17, 2008 – Displaying the copy of the PA Constitution which he always carries with him, Senator Folmer speaks at a press conference in the Capitol Rotunda in favor of an amendment that would put an end to "lame duck" sessions of the General Assembly, which are held in even-numbered years on the calendar between the General Election and the end to the legislative session on Nov. 30.
