Folmer, Senate Republicans to Announce Health Care Reform Package

"HealthNET PA" expands insurance coverage and cuts costs

HARRISBURG – Senator Mike Folmer (R-48) will be joined by colleagues in announcing the Senate Republican Caucus's comprehensive health care reform package, which is designed to improve access and affordability of health care. A number of the pieces of Folmer's "Healthy PA" have been incorporated into "HealthNET PA."

HealthNET PA is a blueprint that expands direct access to health care for the uninsured and low-income working Pennsylvanians, harnesses information technology and market incentives to cut costs, reduces costly health care-associated infections, and provides expanded insurance options for employers and families.

The news conference will take place Tuesday, June 10th, at 9:45 a.m. at the Capitol Media Center.

Joining Senator Folmer to discuss HealthNET PA will be: Senate Public Health and Welfare Committee Chairman Ted Erickson (R-Delaware), Senate Banking and Insurance Committee Chairman Don White (R-Indiana), Sen. Pat Browne (R-Lehigh), Senate Policy Committee Chairman Jake Corman (R-Centre), Sen. Pat Vance (R-Cumberland) and Sen. Rob Wonderling (R-Montgomery).
