Bills Signed into Law by Governor
Senate Bill 42 – Act 32 – penalties for falsely claiming to be a veteran on driver’s licenses;
Senate Bill 329 – Act 33 – extends the Ready to Succeed Scholarship Program;
Senate Bill 330 – Act 34 – empowers municipalities to address dilapidated properties faster;
Senate Bill 687 – Act 37 and Senate Bill 688 – Act 38 – amendments to the Uniform Planned Community Act and Uniform Condominium Act relating to planned communities and condominiums;
House Bill 73 – Act 20 – requires providers counseling sexually violent predators notify the District Attorney or Chief Law Enforcement of counseling services and location;
House Bill 140 – Act 22 – deregulates vanpools and rideshares;
House Bill 157 – Act 23 – considers military education and training to satisfy licensing or certification requirements;
House Bill 164 – Act 24 – prohibits possessing equipment/implements used for animal fighting;
House Bill 221 – Act 25 – provides training of law enforcement and minor judiciary to recognize individuals suffering from mental health conditions or intellectual disabilities;
House Bill 229 – Act 26 – addresses cyber harassment of a child;
House Bill 272 – Act 27 – strengthens the Sexual Assault Testing and Evidence Collect Act;
House Bill 972 – Act 30 – provides for the electronic delivery of insurance policies and annuities;
House Bill 1071 – Act 31 – extends state and local building permits for construction projects.

Veterans’ Expo and Job Fair
Veterans, active military and families are invited to attend the free Veterans’ Expo and Job Fair from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 20 at the Radisson Hotel Harrisburg, 1150 Camp Hill Bypass, Camp Hill. The event is to connect active and retired military with benefits and resources available through local businesses and organizations, and an opportunity for veterans and employers to meet and discuss available positions. Community service providers, healthcare professionals, VA benefits counselors, education/training providers and business startup assistance will also be available.
