I had the wonderful opportunity to meet the Red Land Little League Team, Little League World Series National Champions, and introduce them on the Senate Floor! What an amazing group of youth, a team that has demonstrated superior sportsmanship and remarkable athletic abilities.
Took my turn on June 1 at the Bowling Proprietors Association of PA's "Strikes and Spares for Hope and Healing" to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities. I was also able to speak with Amy, owner of Palmyra Bowling and the Sinkhole Saloon. Unfortunately, I did not make the "strike" list, but I did knock over all but two pins!
On April 1, I had the opportunity to speak with Buildings & Grounds Directors for the Lebanon-Lancaster IU13 School Districts. It was a great conversation in regards to mandate relief, basic education funding formula, property tax relief and the Governor's proposed budget. On February 23, I officially reintroduced my “Taxpayer Protection Act,” Senate Bill 7. This legislation would limit – not reduce – the growth of state spending. A rally was held in support of this legislation, as well as Senator Bartolotta’s Senate Bill 70, the “Taxpayer Protection Amendment.”

On January 21, I had two very special guests seated on the Senate Floor: Sgt. 1st Class Vinicios Occhiena, of Jonestown, and Staff Sgt. Melvyn Mayo, of Reading, both assigned to the Pennsylvania National Guard's Medical Battalion Training Site located at Fort Indiantown Gap. These two outstanding soldiers placed first in the Army-wide 2014 Command Sgt. Maj. Jack L. Clark Jr. Best Medic Competition held November 3-7 at Camp Bullis, Texas, beating 32 other teams from around the world, including Germany and Korea. Bell & Evans of Fredericksburg, PA, located in the 48th Senate District sponsored and chose me as their driver in the Mike Waugh Celebrity Draft Horse Team Driving Event at the 2015 Pennsylvania Farm Show. It was my first time participating in this event and I placed 6th!
I participated in the VIP Dairy Showmanship Contest at the 2015 Pennsylvania Farm Show. I showed Peppermint, a Brown Swiss Cow owned by Heilinger Swiss in Lebanon County. As part of the contest, I had to know that Peppermint was born on 12-12-12, her mother’s name was Philly and her father’s name was Tanbark.
